FTC Approves Ascension’s Acquisition of AMSURG ASCs

Ascension is pleased to share that we have received approval from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to move forward with our acquisition of AMSURG’s ambulatory surgery center (ASC) business. This regulatory milestone is a significant step toward our expected official closing in the near future.

This acquisition will add more than 250 centers to our ministry, significantly expanding our ability to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in community-based settings and furthering our journey to transform healthcare delivery. Over the past several years, we have been intentionally building a broader outpatient platform. This transaction meaningfully strengthens and accelerates our ability to serve patients in more convenient, lower-cost sites of care while keeping our hospitals focused on complex and high-acuity needs.
