
Eduardo Conrado is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit and Catholic health systems, with a Mission of delivering compassionate, personalized care to all, with special attention to those most vulnerable.
Ascension serves more than 4.2 million patients across its network spanning 36 states and the District of Columbia, with 91 wholly owned or consolidated hospitals, and ownership interests in 27 additional hospitals through partnerships. The portfolio also includes more than 300 ambulatory surgery centers with AMSURG, 22 senior living communities and a variety of other care sites offering a range of healthcare services.
Since joining Ascension in 2018, Eduardo has played a pivotal role in leading Ascension’s transformation, driving growth across the continuum of care as well as improvement in key measures such as quality and safety, nurse retention, consumer experience, efficiency and community impact.
He was recognized in Modern Healthcare’s 2025 list of the 100 most influential people in healthcare.
Eduardo began his current role as President & CEO in January 2026 after serving as President since 2023. As President, he was responsible for setting system strategy, leading day-to-day operations and driving Ascension’s overall success through innovation and portfolio transformation.
He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer from 2019 to January 2023. In this role, he led the Ascension-wide strategy, aligning the portfolio, investments and actions to position the health ministry to thrive as the industry and expectations of those it serves change.
After serving on the Ascension Board of Directors from 2014 to 2018, Eduardo joined Ascension in 2018 as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer focused on digital and data strategy.
Prior to Ascension, he had a 26-year career with Motorola, later Motorola Solutions.
Eduardo serves as a board member for the Catholic Health Association of the United States and for ArcBest Corporation, a transportation and logistics company. He was also on the Southwest Airlines board of directors from 2023 to 2025.
Eduardo earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas; a master’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE, Barcelona, Spain; and a master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona.
